Growing South Dade’s Economy
Community leaders, business owners and residents invited to help create a South Dade strategic plan for economic development on Nov. 20
MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava invites community leaders, business owners and residents to help create a South Dade strategic plan for economic development on Nov. 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at ZooMiami. The convening is the first in a series of three workshops to engage the community in developing a plan to grow South Dade’s economic opportunities.
The “South Dade Solutions Summits” spearheaded by Commissioners Levine Cava and Dennis C. Moss in 2016 have resulted in partnerships with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau for launch of the “South Dade: More to Explore” marketing brand and collaborations between Miami-Dade County, South Florida Regional Planning Council, and the Economic Development Council of South Dade (EDC) in winning a planning grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (US EDA). These series of workshops, conducted by the EDC, will inform the creation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan for South Dade funded by the US EDA.
The public is invited to attend to learn more about past and present plans for economic development in our region, and to actively participate in strategies for growing South Dade’s economy in the future. The media is encouraged to cover the meeting. For more information and to RSVP, go to: https://bit.ly/32ZuZRu.
