Commissioner McGhee’s resolution recognizes May 20 as Military Appreciation Day in Miami-Dade County


MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County is proud to announce the historic passage of Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee’s resolution declaring May 20th and every third Saturday of every May thereafter as Military Appreciation Day. This important recognition of our military heroes is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Commissioner McGhee, who tirelessly championed this cause.

The Miami-Dade County Commission unanimously passed the resolution to have a dedicated day of appreciation for our military. Commissioner McGhee’s leadership and vision have made this possible, and we are grateful for his unwavering commitment to our military servicemen and women.

Military Appreciation Day will serve as a reminder to all Miami-Dade residents of the sacrifices and contributions made by our military personnel and their families. This day provides an opportunity to honor our veterans, those currently serving, and their families for their selflessness and unwavering commitment to our country.
