Vice Chairman Rodriguez strongly supports State Bill 102 regarding workforce and affordable housing
MIAMI-DADE – Vice Chairman Anthony Rodriguez fully supports State Bill (SB) 102, sponsored by Senator Alexis Calatayud. The bill includes significant additional funding for workforce and affordable housing. It also provides additional tax incentives for homeowners.
SB 102 will provide specific regulations that the local government can establish. Vice Chairman Rodriguez has requested the County’s Attorneys to draft legislation implementing the following:
- Property tax exemption program(s) in the current draft of SB 102.
- Local governments must publish a list of the inventory of government-owned properties that may be suitable for affordable housing.
- Local governments must have a public written policy outlining procedures for expediting permits.
Workforce and affordable housing are a top priority for Vice Chairman Rodriguez as he works to ensure that Miami-Dade County residents can find affordable housing for their families.
