Commissioner Martinez invites you to Adopt-a-Tree at Camp Matacumbe
MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez invites all residents to an Adopt-a-Tree event in District 11 hosted by the Department of Environmental Resources Management. Commissioner Martinez encourages residents to take advantage of this opportunity to pick up 2 FREE trees this Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Camp Matacumbe, 13841 SW 120thStreet, Miami, FL, 33186. Pre-register to skip the lines and save time by choosing your preferences at www.miamidade.gov/adopt-a-tree.
Please arrive early as tree quantities are limited and will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. The tree species offered based upon availability are: mango (1 per household), longan, pigeon plum, black ironwood and mulberry. Participants must own a single-family or duplex residential property in Miami-Dade County. Renters qualify with permission from the property owner. Other cases may qualify; please review the Adopt-a-Tree eligibility and requirements section in full on the web page listed above.
Also, at this event, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department will be exchanging non-high-efficiency showerheads and incandescent light bulbs for high-efficiency showerheads and up to three energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs absolutely FREE (while supplies last).
“I invite the community to come out and take advantage of this great program. The trees help our environment and reduce energy bills by shading your home, patio and driveways as well as improve a home’s appearance,” said Commissioner Martinez.
