Commissioner Martinez to hold street co-designation ceremony to recognize Academir Charter School West
MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez is recognizing Academir Charter School West (ACSW) with a co-designation ceremony and presenting them with a proclamation at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Residents are invited to join Commissioner Martinez as he dedicates a portion of SW 149th Avenue at its intersection with SW 26th Street (Coral Way) as “Academir Way.” This portion of the roadway is being dedicated in honor of the school’s commitment to education and service to the community.
The mission of ACSW is to provide students with a well-rounded Kindergarten through 5th grade education through academic rigor, with emphasis on the “STEM” fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics using research-based instructional methods. The school serves all students needing specialized instructional services. Its academic program is also supported by a character development program, which provides students with a positive school culture with the goal of creating a school social culture that encourages positive behaviors and interactions. ACSW is an “A+” rated school by the Florida Department of Education and has received numerous awards and accolades since its founding.
