Commissioner Martinez to join Miami-Dade Parks in dedication of a fitness court in Sugarwood Park

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez will join the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department in a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new fitness court. Celebrate the installation of this new fitness court on Wednesday, February 12, at 3:00 p.m. and enjoy an afternoon in the park with family-friendly activities. The event is free and open to the public. The new fitness court is located at Sugarwood Park, 14551 SW 100th St, Miami, FL 33186.

The fitness court features five pieces of easy-to-use low-impact gym equipment designed for cardio and strength training and wheelchair workouts. Included is a two-person cross-country ski, a lower body combo, a lat pull-down, a chest press and a six-person static combo. The fitness court is accessible via stairs and an ADA ramp.

“This new fitness court is a great addition to Sugarwood Park and this neighborhood,” said Commissioner Martinez. “With access to this free, state-of-the-art exercise equipment, residents will have another fun way to be active and connect with the outdoors. I look forward to seeing neighbors enjoying this new addition to the park.”
