Commissioner Joe A. Martinez’s continues to support the Miami-Dade County Coordinated Victims Assistance Centers (CVAC) Foundation, Inc.
MIAMI – The Miami-Dade County Commission on March 3 approved a resolution directing the County administration to identify two areas of great need in the County to site two new Coordinated Victims Assistance Centers.
“I am so happy that my colleagues realize the importance of the Miami-Dade County Coordinated Victims Assistance Centers (CVAC), which I created in 2009. Eleven years later, an expansion of two more CVACs are being requested to serve our County,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez. “This program has helped many victims of domestic violence and I am proud to have initiated this program and will continue to support it.”
CVAC’s mission is to provide victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with greater access to enhanced and coordinated services through multidisciplinary collaboration in one location that includes victim-centered advocacy and other collateral support services that will facilitate the achievement of peace and safety for victims and their children.
