Commissioner Diaz to join Hialeah Gardens Mayor De La Cruz for a blood drive


MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz will join Hialeah Gardens Mayor Yioset De La Cruz for a blood drive in response to the blood shortage due to the COVID-19 state of emergency.

The City of Hialeah Gardens blood drive will take place at Hialeah Gardens City Hall, 10001 NW 87th Avenue on Tuesday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The blood drive is sponsored by Ralph Aleman of Innovative Transfusion Medicine.

Commissioner Diaz and Mayor De La Cruz will get the drive started by donating blood at 8 a.m.

The first 100 blood donors will each receive a KN95 face mask from Commissioner Diaz and a bag of food from Mayor De La Cruz. A special thank you to the Knights of Malta for donating the KN95 masks.
