MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – Dozens of Hialeah students and their families will have a happy Thanksgiving this year thanks to Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz and the Miami Dolphins, who teamed up on Nov. 23 to give away Thanksgiving turkeys to needy students at Hialeah Educational Academy.

“It was very satisfying to see the smiles on kids’ faces and to know that they will be able to enjoy a great Thanksgiving meal this year,” Commissioner Diaz said.

Flanked by Hialeah Educational Academy Principal Carlos Alvarez, left, and Marcus Bach-Armas of the Miami Dolphins organization, Commissioner Diaz addresses students before starting the turkey giveaway.
