Commissioner Diaz wants to explore one-way streets or reversible lanes to solve Doral gridlock

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – It’s a fact: Doral suffers from some of the worst traffic gridlock in Miami-Dade County, but it could become the first city in the County to benefit from turning some two-way roads into one-way streets or reversible lanes to reduce congestion.  Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, whose district includes Doral, wants the County to work with officials from the City of Doral to explore the possibility. The County Commission on March 8 approved a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Diaz that calls for a feasibility study on the idea.

“Traffic congestion in areas like Doral is negatively impacting our residents’ quality of life and hurting the economy. One-way streets or reversible lanes can be part of the solution,” said Commissioner Diaz, who sponsored a similar resolution last year.
