Commissioner Diaz condemns Maduro regime

MIAMI – The Miami-Dade County Commission on May 2 approved several resolutions sponsored by Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz expressing concern for and condemning the growing political repression in Venezuela and urging President Trump and the United States Congress to impose sanctions on officials of Nicolas Maduro’s government and allow Venezuelans living in the United States to apply for legal permanent resident status.

“We are united in this cause and say ‘enough is enough,’” Commissioner Diaz said. “Venezuela, keep fighting for your freedom. We are with you.”

Commissioner Diaz’s district includes Doral, which is home to the largest concentration of Venezuelans in the United States.
