MIAMI-DADE – In his ongoing efforts to help families financially impacted by the COVID-19 state of emergency, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz helped distribute food to nearly 3,000 families this week at three Farm Share drive-through food distributions that took place on April 27 in Sweetwater, April 28 in Medley and April 29 in Hialeah Gardens.

In Sweetwater, Commissioner Diaz teamed up with Sweetwater Mayor Orlando Lopez and State Rep. Ana Maria Rodriguez at the new Dolphin Mall food distribution location to feed 1,200 families who pulled up in their cars to collect nutritious goods. In Medley, he was joined by Medley Mayor Roberto Martell at Medley Town Hall for a distribution that drew 600 vehicles. In Hialeah Gardens, he joined Hialeah Gardens Mayor Yioset De La Cruz at Hialeah Gardens High School as approximately 800 cars lined up for free food.
