Chairman Diaz honors healthcare professionals for COVID-19 efforts

MIAMI – Miami-Dade healthcare workers were honored for their efforts against the coronavirus pandemic at the March 2 County Commission meeting.
Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jose “Pepe” Diaz, joined by fellow commissioners and Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, presented Jackson Health System doctors and nurses with a proclamation recognizing their brave sacrifices during the pandemic and declaring the month of March as “Health Heroes Month.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the extraordinary dedication of our healthcare providers, who have been on the frontlines of our efforts against the virus and have consistently gone above and beyond for the sake of the entire community’s health and wellbeing,” Chairman Diaz said. “They are amazing heroes in every sense of the word.”
