Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo appointed to 2020 Census Statewide Complete Count Committee
MIAMI-DADE – On January 6, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the designation of Florida’s 2020 Census Statewide Complete Count Committee. Governor DeSantis appointed Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez as Chair of the Complete Count Committee. Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo is also appointed to the Governor’s Complete Count Committee amongst a diverse group of members representing local governments, businesses, and community-based organizations throughout the State of Florida.
“I am honored and humbled by Governor Ron DeSantis appointment to Florida’s 2020 Census Statewide Complete Count Committee,” Commissioner Bovo said. “Since April 1, 2019, Miami-Dade County’s 2020 Census Task Force has been working diligently to inform its residents about the importance of being counted in the 2020 Census as well as curtailing an undercount of hard-to-reach populations. As the Miami-Dade County Census Liaison and now a member of the 2020 Census Statewide Complete Count Committee, I reiterate my commitment to ensuring that residents in Miami-Dade County and throughout the State of Florida are counted in the 2020 Census,” Commissioner Bovo said.
