Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo invites Dr. Gershon Fink and Menachim Fink to speak about the “Stop the Bleed” campaign

MIAMI-DADE – On February 4, 2020, Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo invited Dr. Gershon Fink and his son Menachem Fink to present at Miami-Dade County’s Board of County Commissioners’ meeting regarding the “Stop the Bleed” program. Stop the Bleed traces its origins to the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown, CT, in December 2012. Dr. Fink teaches the lifesaving program to physicians, dentists and non-medical community members throughout Miami-Dade County.

“The Stop the Bleed campaign was created to make our nation more resilient by better preparing the public to save lives of people severely bleeding from an injury,” Commissioner Bovo said. “Dr. Gerson Fink’s efforts has educated and empowered residents throughout our County to help in a bleeding emergency and, ultimately, save lives. I thank Dr. Fink and his son for teaching lifesaving skills to heed a call-to-action before professional help arrives at a scene.”
