Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo and Freedom Fresh to provide food to Hialeah Housing senior residents

MIAMI-DADE – On Friday, March 27, 2020, Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo will partner with Freedom Fresh and the Hialeah Housing Authority to provide quality produce to Hialeah Housing seniors residents. The City of Hialeah Council will also help in distributing a total of 1,400 boxes, which will contain fruits, vegetables, milk and eggs. Each senior building unit will receive one box.

“Due to the coronavirus outbreak, seniors have been advised to self-isolate as much as possible,” Commissioner Bovo said. “While this may make it difficult to get basic needs met, my office has joined Freedom Fresh and the Hialeah Housing Authority to provide food to our most vulnerable. For me, public service is precisely about serving our community, especially during moments of crisis. That is why Freedom Fresh and I have teamed up to help our neighbors during this unprecedented pandemic. I want to thank the City of Hialeah Mayor and Council for aiding us in this effort. I would also like to thank Freedom Fresh for their partnership. This is a time for all of us to come together, and I have no doubt that we will be better and stronger because of it.”
