Senator García’s statement regarding Temporary Status for Venezuelan People

MIAMI-DADE – I stand in unity with the Venezuelan people. Venezuelans in Miami-Dade County have made invaluable contributions to our community and economy. Due to the repressive and oppressive regime of Nicolas Maduro, more than 7 million Venezuelans have fled their country since 2013.

I commit to working alongside our Congressional Delegation and the Administration to ensure hardworking, law-abiding individuals are protected from being returned to a country that is repressive, corrupt, and fails to recognize fundamental human rights.
