Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Engine 57 Truck Push-In Ceremony at Station #57

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is pleased to invite you to attend our traditional truck push-in ceremony to inaugurate new service at our Fire Station #57 in West Kendall. Engine 57 will be placed into service Monday, April 8, 2019. This 4-person fire truck will join Rescue 57 and Battalion 13 to provide enhanced fire protection and medical first response to our West Kendall service area. This unit is one of our new “clean cab” engines, designed to limit exposure of our firefighters to harmful cancer-causing gases imbedded in our gear and equipment after a fire.

Elected officials and members of the community will join our firefighters as we "push" Engine 57 into service at Station #57, located at 8501 SW 127 Avenue, Miami, FL 33183.

The fire service truck “Push-In Ceremony” is a tradition that dates back to the late 1800s when fire engines were pulled by horses. When a new unit came to the station, the community would join the firefighters pushing the new unit into the station where they could then hitch the horses and ready the unit for the next emergency.

Media Note:
Interviews will be available in English and Spanish.

Please confirm attendance by email along with the names of crew members who will be attending the Engine 57 Push-In Ceremony at Station #57 to [email protected].
