Join webinar on Class I permit application and EAAs, Dec. 1

Join the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), Natural Resources Division, Coastal Resources Section, to learn about the new digital platform for submitting and processing Class I permit applications and Expedited Administrative Authorizations (EAAs) for work in tidal waters and coastal wetlands.
Coastal resources in Miami-Dade County include diverse communities such as seagrass beds, mangrove forests and fringes, and coral and sponge hard bottom communities. These communities provide important habitat and nursery areas for South Florida’s commercial and recreational fisheries. These ecological communities also assist in the maintenance of water quality in Biscayne Bay and its adjacent tributaries by providing biological filtering of stormwater runoff from upland areas, and by slowing currents and trapping sediments to reduce erosion and increase water clarity. Human activities in the coastal areas of Miami-Dade County affect these coastal resources. Section 24-48 of the Code of Miami-Dade County provides for the protection of these resources by requiring that a Class I permit be obtained for all work in, on, over or upon the tidal waters or coastal wetlands of Miami-Dade County, including those areas within municipalities.
RER's, Natural Resources Division, Coastal Resources Section invites you to a webinar to learn about the Class I permit application review and EAAs for work in tidal waters and coastal wetlands on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
This session will introduce the new RER Electronic Permits & Reviews System platform which will serve as the centralized system for all Class I permit applications and EAAs. The project team will walk participants through the RER Electronic Permits and Reviews System process and answer questions during a live questions and answers.
Important Update: Class I permit application and EAA processes are scheduled to launch Dec. 1. Stay informed and prepared by attending this webinar, especially if you participate in the Class I permit application or EAA processes.
