Tax Collector

We facilitate current and delinquent real and personal property taxes, special assessments for all local taxing authorities, local business tax receipts, and convention and tourist taxes. We also issue automobile, boat, hunting and fishing licenses, as well as process motor vehicle registration and renewals.

Tax Collector's Public Service Office, located at 200 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33128, is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Services

Real estate taxes are collected annually and can be paid online, by mail or in person. Partial, deferred and installment payments are also available.

Apply for or renew your local business tax receipt, or request a change to your existing account.

Taxes must be paid on tangible personal property, which are assets used in a business to derive income.

Hotels, restaurants and rental living accommodations are subject to several types of taxes.

The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector is required to hold a Tax Certificate Sale every year. Learn how you can bid in an online auction for tax certificates.

Fishing licenses and permits are issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Recreational hunting licenses and permits, regulated by the state of Florida, may be purchased on an annual basis.

A Fire and Out-of-Business Sale Permit is required if you plan to organize a sale that will lead to the closing of a business.

Motor Vehicles

Motor vehicles, vessels, mobile homes and trailers must be registered at the point of purchase.

Motor vehicle registration renewals can be made online, at the Tax Collector's office or at authorized agencies.

Disabled person parking permits are given to people who are medically certified to have long-term, permanent or temporary mobility impairment, or who are certified legally blind or temporarily sight-impaired.

About Us

The Tax Collector administers state laws, local ordinances and policies to properly collect current and delinquent real and personal property taxes, as well as delinquent accounts for various County departments. In addition, we collect special assessments for all local taxing authorities, local business tax receipts, and convention and tourist taxes.

We act on behalf of the state of Florida to issue automobile, boat, hunting and fishing licenses.

We also process motor vehicle registration and renewals.
