Welcome to the Mayor's Elections Advisory Group

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez named nine local community leaders to serve on the Mayor’s Election Advisory Group.

The group of well-respected citizens are working with the Mayor, as well as County Commissioners Lynda Bell, Sally A. Heyman, Dennis C. Moss and Rebeca Sosa, in an effort to find sensible, long-term solutions to the County’s recent elections challenges. 

The Mayor’s goal is to improve the elections process and make it smooth and painless for the residents of Miami-Dade County, and ensure that our model is the best in the nation.

Mayor's Election Advisory Group - June 16, 2014 Meeting

The Elections Advisory Group met on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Elections Headquarters, 2700 NW 87 Ave., 2nd Floor, Conference Room B.

A Mayor’s Election Advisory Group meeting took place Thursday, January 30, 2014.

Mayor's Election Advisory Group - Final Report

The work of the Advisory Group resulted in 15 recommendations, of which seven will require changes to State law.

The Mayor's Office will be immediately implementing the administrative recommendations described in the Mayor's Election Advisory Group Final Report and phasing in those that have budgetary implications.

The Group will reconvene in April during the FY 2013-14 budget cycle to monitor progress and to review the Department's budget request. In addition, the Group committed to convene as needed to review future issues that may arise that impact the Department.

Elections After Action Report - November 6 Presidential Election

This report was presented for review and consideration to the Elections Advisory Group on January 7, 2013 at 9 a.m.

The work of the Advisory Group continued through January and a report with findings and recommendations will be finalized at that time for a presentation to the Board of County Commissioners.
