Additionally, this year the Florida legislature made adjustments to the Deployed Military Exemption.  Now, 2015 and 2014 deployments are factored in the 2016 Deployed Military exemption calculation.  Furthermore, 2015 and 2014 deployments in excess of 365 days may qualify for a refund of 2015 taxes.

“It is important that our deployed military service men and women receive all the benefits that they are entitled to receive.  Anything we could do to help them is of upmost importance to my Office,” said Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia.

If any member of the military has any questions, we are ready and willing to help, they should call us at 305-375-4712 or they can visit us Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., at our Downtown Miami (111 NW 1st Street, 7th Floor) or South Dade Government Center (10710 SW 211th Street, 2nd Floor) offices.
