(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department is offering discounts to Miami MetroZoo and naturalist-guided EcoAdventures Tours to families that register their kids for the first time to any Miami-Dade Parks summer camps program during the promotional period of July 6-18, 2009, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Discounts include:
- At Miami MetroZoo: Buy one admission at regular price and get the second of equal or lesser value for free. Discounts are also available on food, gift shop items, safari cycle rentals, camel and carousel rides, and giraffe and pelican feedings. Offer ends August 30, 2009.
- At EcoAdventures: Two-for-one Sea Kayak and Snorkel Adventure Tour (ages 9 and above). Offer ends September 30, 2009.
Parents need to register their children on site at their select summer camp location, where they will receive their coupon upon registration. The discount coupons will be given to each child that is registered, one Miami MetroZoo and one EcoAdventures coupon per child. Summer camp registration is rolling for the day camps, which operate weekdays from 9 a.m. -5 p.m. with 7:30 a.m. early drop-off and 6 p.m. late pick-up. Short and long-term registration is available, along with a financial assistance program for qualified families. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first serve basis. Offer ends July 18, 2009.
Miami-Dade Parks offers children ages 6 - 14 a variety of general and specialized camps at more than 50 parks throughout Miami-Dade County. The 10-week general camp program Fit to Play, Green it Up features daily exercise and nutrition, and environment-friendly activities to teach kids the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a healthy planet. The 10-week specialized camps include camps for children with disabilities, sports camps, performing arts camps, and EcoAdventures nature camps. General and specialty camps also feature exciting field trips to sites such as Miami MetroZoo, Crandon Park Visitors and Nature Center, Deering Estate at Cutler, Pelican Island, and Joseph Caleb Auditorium for theatre and film programs. Campers will also enjoy an End-of-Summer Bash with entertainment, games, and free lunch scheduled for July 21-24 at Tropical Park Equestrian Center.
