The Professional Compliance Bureau (PCB) of the Miami-Dade Police Department today arrested MDPD Officer Saintamen Edwards, charging her with two counts of Official Misconduct, with the unlawful use of a communication device and with the misuse of personal identification information.
PCB investigators say Officer Edwards falsified criminal allegations against her estranged husband and used MDPD equipment to disseminate the false information to her husband’s employer, with the intent of having him fired.
Officer Edwards is relieved of duty without pay.
Commenting on the arrest, MDPD Director J.D. Patterson noted that every Miami-Dade police officer takes an oath to maintain the trust and integrity of the community. “Any officer who violates that oath must be held responsible for their actions,” Director Patterson said.
