Shooting - UPDATE #1


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigation a shooting that occurred at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station, located at 6205 NW 27 Avenue.

Investigators say that around 9:30 p.m. officers received a call regarding a security guard shot at the Metrorail station. When officers arrived they discovered the attending guard on-duty had indeed been shot.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, in critical condition. A witness reported seeing a male running away from the scene and entering a dark colored vehicle, which fled eastbound on NW 64th Street.

The investigation is on-going.

UPDATE #1: Investigators have been informed that Mr. Keith Cox was removed from the life support system early this morning.  Our hearts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.  Investigators continue to urge the community to contact Crimestoppers with any information pertaining to this case.
