The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Sexual Crimes Unit is investigating an armed carjacking/abduction, which escalated into an attempt sexual battery, all in the presence of the victim's two month old baby.
According to investigators, just before eleven o'clock this morning, the victim, 27 year old white female was feeding her baby inside her vehicle at Acadia Park, located at 5391 NW 195 Drive, when she noticed a black male wearing a white shirt and blue jeans walk past her car. The subject then returned and approached her vehicle while producing a firearm. This individual entered her vehicle and had her drive away, demanding her property and sexual favors. The victim refused his demands; at which time, the subject pointed the gun at the baby sitting in his car seat. The subject then began to touch her inappropriately on her private areas. As they arrived at NW 171 Street and NW 38 Avenue, the subject allowed the victims to exit. The subject fled in the victim's vehicle, in an unknown direction.
The victim while carrying her baby was able to run to a nearby home and call 911. Officers responded to the area and immediately began to search for the subject and vehicle. Miami Gardens Police Department (MGPD), marked unit located the victim's vehicle abandoned in the area of NW 178 Street and NW 33 Court. Moments later, a MGPD officer detained an individual fitting the description of the subject. Investigators questioned the subject, who has subsequently been released.
The subject is considered armed and dangerous and remains at large.
