Police-Involved Shooting


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Florida Department Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating a shooting

Involving Miami-Dade Police Department’s (MDPD), Northside District detectives. Shortly after 7:00 p.m. the detectives were following up on a shooting investigation that led them to an apartment complex located at 13200 block and NE 7 Avenue. As the detectives approached the apartment complex, they were confronted by a subject who began shooting at the investigators. The officers returned fire striking the subject.

The 21 years old male subject was transported to Aventura Hospital Trauma Unit. At this time his condition is unknown.

According to investigators the male subject was wanted for a recent shooting.

A firearm was recovered on scene.

The investigation continues.

UPDATE #1: Through investigative means it was discovered that subject 1, Marvin Arroliga, was accompanied by his brother, subject 2, Howard Morraz. At 2:53 a.m., subject 1 was pronounced deceased and investigators are seeking the help of the community in locating subject 2.

UPDATE #2: Through investigative means MDPD Homicide Detectives acquired information of the whereabouts of subject 2 (Howard Arom Morraz).  The United States Marshall Florida Caribbean Regional Task Force assisted investigators in the apprehension of Morraz and charged accordingly.
