COVID-19 vaccinations now available at MIA

Employees and passengers living or working in Florida have easy access

MIAMI ( May 11, 2021 )

As part of Miami-Dade County’s effort to make the COVID-19 vaccine more easily accessible to the County’s hospitality and tourism sector, Pfizer vaccines will be available at Miami International Airport to airport employees, taxi and rideshare drivers, family and friends, and anyone who lives or works in Florida from May 10-14, June 1-4, and June 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MIA has two vaccination sites during those dates and times:

1. Concourse D, 4th Floor Auditorium, upstairs from Door 1

2. Drive-through location: 75 Bus Road, Miami, FL 33102 (MIA taxi overflow lot)

“We are committed to making it as easy and convenient as possible for those who live or work in Miami-Dade to get vaccinated, which is why I am so excited that we are now vaccinating at MIA, the daily workplace for more than 36,000 of our travel industry employees,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Vaccination is our single best tool to beat this pandemic and truly get our community and our economy back to normal.”

Individuals 18 years of age or older who live or work in Florida or who are present in Florida for the purpose of providing goods or services for the benefit of residents and visitors of the State of Florida may receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as outlined by State policy. Individuals are no longer required to provide multiple proofs of residency to receive a vaccine. Minors 16 and 17 years of age may receive the Pfizer vaccine but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the vaccination site.

“It is our extreme pleasure to support the County’s expanded vaccination effort by making these life-saving doses easily accessible to the MIA workforce and eligible travelers,” said Lester Sola, MIA Director and CEO. “I strongly encourage all MIA employees and eligible visitors to take advantage of this special opportunity to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.”

Miami-Dade County offers a pre-registration system to expedite the vaccination process for eligible individuals who complete a one-time online registration or call 305-614-2014. Anyone who does not pre-register may have a longer wait at the vaccination site. If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or a TTY user, you may also call 711 (Florida Relay Service) or email [email protected] for assistance.

The Pfizer vaccine requires a second dose after 21 days. Individuals will need to bring their Centers for Disease Control (CDC) COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card and a government-issued ID to their second vaccination appointment. To learn more about the County’s Vaccination Program, click here.

“Nomi Health is proud to support and be a part of the new vaccination site at Miami International Airport,” said Mark Newman, founder and CEO, Nomi Health. “It is a reflection of our mission to get people back to travel and is an extension of our partnership with Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida on their testing and vaccination efforts. "We're well-positioned to support MIA's vaccine site based on our track record of supporting travel entities from PortMiami to FLL Airport."
