Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department hosts drive-through Pet Food Bank to help pet owners provide for their pets

MIAMI ( April 16, 2020 )

To help provide relief for Miami-Dade County’s pet owners during the COVID-19 crisis, Miami-Dade Animal Services is hosting a drive-through Pet Food Bank on Friday, April 17 2020, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or while supplies last), at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center at 3599 NW 79th Ave., Doral, FL 33122. The pet food distribution event is made possible in part with support and pet food donations from Friends of Miami Animal Foundation Inc. and Pet Projects for Pets Inc. Both dog and cat food will be available.

“We understand the financial and emotion stress our families are dealing with during these difficult times, so we want to assist our community pet owners by providing food for their furry family members,” said Animal Services Director Alex Muñoz.

To help ensure adherence to social distancing rules and for the safety and protection of event participants and staff, the pet food distribution event is drive-through ONLY and exclusively for Miami-Dade County pet owners. Walk-ups will not be accepted at the event. We ask residents to please wear masks or face coverings at all times during this event.
