Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department reopens two Customer Service Offices
Cashier window also reopens at Opa-Locka location
Throughout the Miami-Dade County COVID-19 State of Emergency, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) has provided near normal service levels, while taking precautions to protect the health of our customers and employees.
As Miami-Dade County continues to transition operations under the new normal, WASD is reopening its Douglas Road Customer Care Walk-in Center (located at 3071 SW 38 Avenue) and closing the temporary site that was housed at its LeJeune Road location. The cashier window will remain open at the Lejeune office as well as at Douglas to complete various financial transactions.
The Douglas Center’s hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and for the safety of our customers and WASD staff, masks are required inside the office and a maximum of five customers are allowed inside the office. Social distancing of at least six feet between each person is required. Please sanitize hands at the time of building entry and wear facial coverings while inside. A temperature check will be required prior to entry as well. Currently, only cash and checks are being accepted as payment methods.
The Opa-Locka Cashier’s office has also reopened. Located at 780 Fisherman St., this location only provides service to Opa-Locka municipal residents and currently has a maximum capacity of three people inside the office.
To encourage social distancing, customers are able to conduct many department-related business functions such as registering an account, viewing billing details and making payments online at miamidade.gov/water or by phone at 305-665-7477 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers.
