Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works 4th of July schedule

MIAMI ( June 30, 2020 )

Miami-Dade County will be observing the 4th of July holiday on Friday, July 3. The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) administrative facilities and the For-Hire Transportation inspection center will be closed on Friday.

The following Miami-Dade Transit service schedule will be in effect on Friday, July 3:

  • Metrorail, Metromover, and Metrobus will provide regular weekday service.
  • Metrorail service will be 10-minute frequency during peak and 15-minutes off peak. Passengers heading to the Miami Airport station will need to transfer at the Earlington Heights station for the Orange Line train. Orange Line trains will run every 15 minutes all day.
  • Service hours for Metrorail and Metromover will remain the currently adjusted 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Metrobus riders will be able to use the Go Nightly program to request a late-night trip between 12:01 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
  • Visit the transit service updates page for full details.

As a reminder, rear-door boarding will continue to be in effect. Fares and parking fees will continue to be suspended at this time. To better facilitate social distancing for all Miami-Dade Transit passengers, the department has added additional buses to high-demand routes.

Residents are asked to please follow the guidelines for Phase I of the County’s New Normal plan. The move to a New Normal still includes requirements for residents to wear face coverings while out in public and on transit. Face coverings are for the safety of yourself and those around you, especially while riding Miami-Dade Transit. Additional security guards will be stationed throughout the transit system to help with face covering and social distancing requirements.

To further support social distancing, please follow the new directional signs that have been installed on Metrorail and Metromover vehicles to create one-way circulation paths.

Due to COVID-19, the following DTPW offices are still closed until further notice: EASY Card Financial Center, Golden Passport, Patriot Passport, and Special Transportation Service (STS).

However, STS customers can still call the STS reservation number (305-871-1111) to reserve or cancel an STS trip. Golden and Patriot Pass information and online applications are available at miamidade.gov/transit. Lost items on transit can be reported via phone 786-469-5564 or online.

DTPW recommends downloading the free GO Miami-Dade Transit app to plan a trip on transit. The app is the best tool to help transit riders plan their trip, track their ride and more.
