The Miami-Dade County Community Action Agency Board is recruiting new members

The Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department and the Community Action Agency Board (CAA) are interested in filling vacancies on the Board.

The Community Action Agency Board is an advisory board to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners that helps guide the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of Community Service Block Grant programs, as well as other programs administered by the Community Action and Human Services Department.

There are currently four (4) vacancies on the CAA Board in the Community Interests and Organizations sector in the following categories: Industry; Business; and Law Enforcement. The term of office is two years, and CAA Board members serve without compensation. The CAA Board meets 10 times per year, and members are encouraged to be involved in at least one committee on a regular basis. Committees include: Executive, Finance, Advocacy, and Youth Initiatives.

Applications are now being accepted from interested candidates. In order to apply, interested candidates need to complete a Board application form, and provide a resume or curriculum vitae. All application materials should be submitted to the Miami-Dade Community Action and Human Services Department, located at 701 NW 1^st Court, Overtown Transit Village, North Tower, 10^th Floor, Miami, Florida 33136 (attention Matias Buchhalter) or via email to [email protected].

The CAA Board’s Nominating Committee will contact selected applicants for further consideration of service on the Board.
