The Community Action Agency Board Is Recruiting New Members

The Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department and its Community Action Agency Board (CAA) is interested in filling vacancies on its Board. The mission of the organization is “to empower economically disadvantaged individuals, families and communities through advocacy, education, resource mobilization and service delivery.”

There are currently six (6) vacancies on the CAA Board in the Private and Public Groups and Interests sector of the CAA Board in the following categories: Industry; Business; and Law Enforcement. The term of office is two-years and CAA Board members serve without compensation. The CAA Board meets 10 times per year and members are encouraged to be involved in at least one committee on a regular basis.  Committees include: Executive, Finance, Advocacy, and Youth Initiatives.

Applications are now being accepted by interested candidates. In order to apply, candidates need to complete a Board nomination form, and provide a resume or curriculum vitae. All application materials should be submitted to the Miami-Dade Community Action and Human Services Department, located at 701 N.W. 1st Court, Overtown Transit Village, North Tower, 10th Floor, Miami, Florida 33136 (attention Matias Buchhalter) or via email to [email protected].

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure electronic receipt of the resume by contacting the Miami-Dade Community Action and Human Services Department at (786) 469-4650.  All resumes and Board nomination forms must be received or postmarked by April 30, 2021.

The CAA Board’s Nominating Committee will contact selected applicants for further consideration of service on the Board.
