Roadway Construction Report for the week of April 12 – April 18, 2021

The following is a list of roadway construction/closure activities for the week of April 12 – April 18, 2021.

SW 137 Ave. from HEFT to US-1 – Project No. 20180064 (Miami-Dade Commission District 8): Work consists of widening the existing roadway from two (2) to four (4) lanes with a raised median and centered left turn lane, sidewalks, curb and gutter, bicycle facilities, continuous storm drainage system, signalization, pavement markings and signing, and street lighting. Construction is anticipated to be posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 2021.

SW 137 Ave. from US-1 to SW 200 St. – Project No. 20180089 (Miami-Dade Commission District 8): Work consists of a new two lane roadway which will include, but is not limited to: sidewalks (for a portion of the project), curb and gutters, a continuous storm drainage system, signalization, pavement markings and signage, standard roadway lighting system, bicycle facilities, landscaping, a bridge crossing over Canal C-102, a culvert crossing at Canal C-102N, and the filling of the borrow pit at SW 240 Street within the right-of-way limits. Construction is anticipated to be completed by October 2022. Mainline Closure: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 216 St. from SW 112 Ave. to SW 127 Ave. – Project No. 20180014 (Miami-Dade Commission Districts 9): The work consists of widening the existing roadway to a 2-lane divided highway with a raised landscaped median, bike lanes, on-street parking, a traffic circle, sidewalks, curb and gutter, a new storm drainage system, signalization, pavement markings and signage, and decorative street lighting.Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 2022. Bridge Replacement at North Miami Avenue over Litter River Canal-Project No. 20160165 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3): Work includes but is not limited to the bridge replacement project is located along SW North Miami Avenue from NW 85 Street to NW 86 Street. The proposed project consists of replacing the bridge currently spanning the Little River Canal along North Miami Avenue, within Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami and the Village of El Portal, with a new bridge that will improve pedestrian facilities. The existing bridge will be replaced entirely with a new concrete bridge that provides 6-foot wide raised concrete sidewalks on both sides while maintaining two lanes of traffic in each direction.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by October 2021. NW 178 St. from NW 78 Pl. to NW 77 Ct. Palm North Spring Outfall Retrofit– Project No. 20190247  WO#2 (Miami-Dade Commission District 13):   Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding, and roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed, in accordance with the construction plans and specifications. Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 2021. Mainline Closure: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

NW 82 Ave. from NW 7 St. to NW 12 St. – Project No. 20200011 (Miami-Dade Commission District 6): Work includes but is not limited to the following: roadway improvements to NW 82nd Ave. from NW 7th St. to NW 12th St. The work consists of widening NW 82nd Avenue from two (2) to three (3) lanes from NW 7th Street to NW 10th Street and the construction of a new four (4) lane road under State Road (SR) 836 from NW 10th Street to NW 12th Street. The project will provide a connection to SR 836 that was left open as part of the SR 826/ SR 836. This project is anticipated to be completed by July 2021. Mainline Closure: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

NW 7 St. from NW 79 Ave. to SR-826 – Project No. 20190315 (Miami-Dade Commission District 6):  Work includes but is not limited to the widening, resurfacing and drainage installation to the existing NW 7th Street roadway from a two (2) lane road to a three (3) lane road from NW 79th Avenue to SR826. In addition, a new three (3) lane road under SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway) will be constructed from SR826 to NW 75 Avenue. This project is anticipated to be completed by September 2021. NW 17 Ave. from Miami River Bridge to NW 20 St. – Project No. 20190280 WO#2 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA   Ramps and Connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 2021. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 137 Ave. and SW 26 St. (Intersection Improvements) Project No. 20180097 WO#3 (Miami-Dade Commission District 11): The improvements at this location includes trees removal; clearing and grubbing; removal of curb and gutter; sidewalks and asphalt; construction of new curb and gutter and sidewalks; drainage installation; milling and resurfacing; signage and pavement markings installations; sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 2021.

NW 178 St. from NW 78 Pl. to NW 87 Ave. – Project No. 20190211 WO#6 (Miami-Dade Commission District 13): The scope of work includes milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. NE 152 St. to NE 154 St. from NE 5 Ave. to NE 5 Ct. – Project No. 20200148 (Miami-Dade Commission District 2):  Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding, and roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed, in accordance with the construction plans and specifications. Construction is anticipated to be completed by August 2021. NW 62 Ave. from Miami Gardens Dr. to NW 199 St. – Project No. 20190280 WO#3 (Miami-Dade Commission District 1): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. SW 18 St. from SW 138 Ave. to SW 134 Ave. (Intersection Improvements) Project No. 20190236 WO#4 (Miami-Dade Commission District 11): The improvement at this location include clearing and grubbing; removal of curb and gutter, asphalt and sidewalks; installation of new curb and gutter, sidewalks and connectors, drainage installation, base installation, milling and resurfacing, signage and pavement markings installation, guardrail installation, sodding as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 2021.

Bird Rd. from SW 147 Ave. to SW 157 Ave. – Project No. 20190120 WO#9 (Miami-Dade Commission District 11): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. SW 152 Ave. and SW 184 St. Project No. 20200150  WO#1 (Miami-Dade Commission District 8): New Traffic Signal Installation; Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of mast arms assemblies, traffic controller, assembly , ground electrodes, conduits, pull boxes, foundations, pedestrian signal heads with push buttons and signs, overhead signs, traffic signal heads, internally illuminated street name signs, loop assemblies, signal cables, sidewalk and ramps, any ancillary work including, handicap ramps, ground mounted signs, pavement markings, construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter. This work started by the beginning of December 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by beginning of March 2021. NW 112 Ave. and NW 105 St. Project No. 20200149 WO#1 (Miami-Dade Commission District 12): New Traffic Signal Installation: Work includes, but is not limited to installation of mast arms assemblies, traffic controller, assembly, ground electrodes, conduits, pull boxes, foundations, pedestrian signal heads with push buttons and signs, traffic signal heads, signal cables, and any ancillary work including handicap ramps, pavement markings. This work started by the beginning of December 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by end of May 2021. Work includes clearing and grubbing, drainage installation, new base installation, installation of new curb and gutter and sidewalks, construction of pedestrian ramps and connectors, milling and resurfacing, adjustment of manholes and valves, signage and pavement markings installation, sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 2021.

Gratigny Elementary School at 11905 N Miami Ave.  Safe Route to School Project No. 2090265 (FM # 4381163-1) WO#1 (Miami-Dade Commission District 2):  This project has been initiated to improve the traffic signalization conditions. The purpose of this work is to enable and encourage students in grades K-8 to walk and or bike to and from school. It purposes to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more appealing, and to facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of projects that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the vicinity of schools. The project includes the installation of new concrete for sidewalk and ramps, improvement of traffic signals installation of school signs and striping.  This work will begin December 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by April 2021. The project includes the installation of new concrete for sidewalk and ramps, improvement of traffic signals installation of school signs and striping. This work will begin December 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by April 2021. This work started by the end of January 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by beginning of May 2021. Edison Park K-8 Center at 500 NW 67 St.  Project # 20190263 (FM # 438165-1) WO#2 (Miami-Dade Commission District 2): This project has been initiated to improve the traffic signalization conditions. The purpose of this work is to enable and encourage students in grades K-8 to walk and or bicycle to and from school to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more appealing, and to facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of projects that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the vicinity of schools and includes  the Install new concrete for sidewalk and ramps, improving of traffic signals installation of school sings and striping.  Project began March 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by June 2021. NW 87 Ave. from NW 138 St. to NW 154 St. – Project No. 20190338 WO# 3 (Miami-Dade Commission District 13): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 2021. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 92 Ave. and SW 68 St. – Project No. 20200231 WO# 1 (Miami-Dade Commission District 10): The improvement includes construction of Traffic Circle to improve the traffic safety at this location; clearing and grubbing; drainage installation; new base installation; installation of new curb and gutter and sidewalks; construction of pedestrian ramps and connectors; milling and resurfacing; adjust of manholes and valves; signage and pavement markings installation; sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 2021.

SW 344 St. from SW 162 Ave. to SW 167 Ave. – Project No. 20190120 WO#11 (Miami-Dade Commission District 9): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. NW 106 St. from NW 112 Ave. to NW 107 Ave. – Project No. 20190211 WO#8 (Miami-Dade Commission District 12): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. SW 42nd Ave. over Coral Gables Canal (North of Cocoplum Circle) – Project No. 20190289-R (Miami-Dade Commission District 7):  The work consists of repairing deteriorated steel beam portions and includes the installation of steel support brackets and anchor bolts at pier caps, replacement of bearing and anchor bolts, cleaning and painting existing and new steel repair areas, and limited closure of bridge traffic on an as-needed basis during repairs. Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 2021. NW 79 Ave. & NW 3500 Blk. Project No. 20200149 WO#11 (Miami-Dade Commission District 12): This project has been initiated to install the new Pedestrian crossing. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: the construction and installation of the Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), including the installation pole mount controller assemblies, mounting hardware, signal cable, power cable, power service, ADA ramps, concrete works, milling and resurfacing. This work is necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the intersection. Construction is anticipated to be completed by beginning of August 2021.
