Miami-Dade County joins call for volunteers and supplies to support victims of the St. Vincent Volcano
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava joins the Global Empowerment Mission, Janice Lyttle Foundation, and the U.S. Caribbean Strong coalition calling for volunteers, supplies, and donations to help families affected by the La Soufriere volcano eruptions in St. Vincent.
"Miami-Dade County is all too familiar with the impact of natural disasters, and today I'm calling on our community to help families and individuals that have been tremendously affected by the La Soufriere volcano eruptions," said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. "Thousands of people have been evacuated to local shelters or neighboring islands and are likely to be displaced for a long term. Your time and donations will help make a huge difference in the lives of our neighbors in need."
There are several ways members of the Miami-Dade community can help those in need:
Donate Supplies
Supplies can be dropped off at locations across South Florida, which can be found here.
Please bring:
- Bottled water
- N95 Masks
- Goggles
- Toiletries/Sanitary/dignity kits
- First aid kits
- Medicine – aspirin, pepto bismol, etc.
- Nebulizers and asthma pumps
- Sleeping bags, blankets pillows, mats, towels
- Baby wipes/baby food food/diapers
- Batteries/flashlights/solar lanterns
- Sleeping bags, blankets pillows, mats

Donate Time
Volunteers will gather Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at 1148 NW 72nd Street, Miami, FL 33150 to assemble care packages for shipment courtesy of relief partners. Volunteers are encouraged to register here: http://www.sflcaribbeanstrong.org. Relief supplies can also be dropped off at this location, and COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
