FilMiami wins national award for its Magic City Music Tour map

MIAMI ( June 04, 2021 )

The Miami-Dade Office of Film & Entertainment has received the prestigious 2021 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award for its Magic City Music Tour virtual interactive map. The NACo awards program honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents, and the Magic City Music Tour won in the category of Arts, Culture and Historic Preservation.

FilMiami’s Magic City Music Tour guides users through Miami-Dade County’s unique and colorful music scene both past and present and features live performances, live music venues, music recording studios, locations where music videos were filmed, as well as music schools and music festivals. Each stop along the tour has information about the artist and venue in addition to multimedia videos and audio files. This free online map was created for tourists, music enthusiasts and artists looking for their next opportunity, as well as local venues looking to highlight their entertainment.

“I am thrilled to see how FilMiami leads the way with innovation and the continuous implementation of industry’s best practices,” said Sandy Lighterman, Chief of Film & Entertainment.

The Miami-Dade Office of Film & Entertainment, branded as FilMiami, markets and promotes Miami-Dade County as a premier destination for television/film/photo/digital media, while also nurturing the local content creators that continue to develop a creative film and entertainment community.
