Miami-Dade County promotes summer vaccination events to reach national goal by July 4

MIAMI ( June 11, 2021 )

In line with the national target proposed by President Biden to reach a 70% vaccination rate nationwide by the July 4 weekend, Miami-Dade County is continuing to step up outreach to all residents with summer vaccination events at hospitals, hotels, churches, museums, and agricultural areas, among other sites.

Vaccination by the numbers in Miami-Dade:

  • Over 1.58 million people have received at least one shot
  • 63% of people over 12 years old have received at least one shot

“We know the only way to go back to normal is through vaccination, and it’s working,” said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Miami-Dade County is committed to continuing to reach into all corners of our community to boost our overall vaccination rate, as we push to get back to normal so we can enjoy the summer months with family and friends.”
