Miami-Dade County extends hours at COVID testing and vaccination sites

MIAMI ( July 23, 2021 ) —

Miami-Dade County and Nomi Health are working hard to accommodate the recent increase in testing and vaccination demand due to the spread of COVID variants and new travel requirements. Site hours have been increased and additional staff has been onboarded.

“We are extremely concerned about this new wave of COVID cases in Miami-Dade. The numbers are very clear: the vast majority of those who end up in the hospital due to COVID are unvaccinated,” says Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “We are calling on all those who are still unvaccinated to get the shot as soon as possible to protect themselves and their loved ones. We also strongly recommend everyone wear masks in large crowds or around those they don’t know to be vaccinated, and get tested if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. We have come too far and made too much progress to go back now.”
