Animal Services and FoMA announce the FREE WOW Mobile veterinary clinic will be in the City of Miami from December 2021, through February 26, 2022
The WOW (Wellness on Wheels) Mobile veterinary clinic, which aims to alleviate critical animal health issues affecting underserved pets and their owners in Miami-Dade County, will be located at Juan Pablo Duarte Park
Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Animal Services) and Friends of Miami Animals Foundation Inc. (FoMA), today announced that the WOW (Wellness on Wheels) Mobile, the County's fully-equipped mobile veterinary clinic, will be located at Juan Pablo Duarte Park, from December through February 26, 2022. Pet owners can bring their dogs and cats to the WOW Mobile for free routine wellness veterinary services at its new location inside Juan Pablo Duarte Park, located at 1776 NW 28 Street, Miami, FL 33142. Services are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis during the hours of 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday (the WOW Mobile is closed Sunday, Monday and County observed holidays).
The WOW Mobile provides basic medical care to owned dogs and cats including physical exams, wellness vaccines and boosters, heartworm screening, deworming, heartworm and flea prevention, as well as referrals for low cost or no cost spay/neuter surgeries and other treatments pets may need but that are not possible on the WOW Mobile. The WOW Mobile travels to underserved neighborhoods in our community that have been identified as “veterinary deserts” and provides free basic medical services to owned dogs and cats.
WOW Mobile services are made possible through a substantial gift and grant funding from FoMA. In addition to purchasing and donating the mobile veterinary vehicle, FoMA has generously provided Animal Services with a grant of $500,000 to operate the vehicle throughout its first year with the County funding years two and three of the three-year pilot program.

About Friends of Miami Animals Foundation Inc.
Friends of Miami Animals Foundation’s mission is to save and improve the lives of homeless pets in Miami Dade County through education, advocacy, financial support and increased awareness. FoMA was founded in 2016 from a desire to help reduce pet overpopulation and alleviate the underlying causes of pet homelessness, such as unwanted puppies and kittens, pet abandonment, and other issues that bring pets into shelters and force pet owners to surrender their pets due to temporary hardships. From funding free or low-cost medical services to pets living in low-income households, to helping Miami-Dade County Animal Services with enrichment for shelter pets by funding enhanced play yards to allow large dogs to get out in play groups and creating their Annual Volunteer Fair, our focus is to assist more homeless pets by working closely with Miami-Dade County Animal Services and helping to bring the shelter into the community and the community into the shelter.
