Miami-Dade County Parks to break ground for the development of Jeb Estates Park on Aug. 11

MIAMI ( August 09, 2022 )

On Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 10 a.m., Miami-Dade County District 2 Commissioner Jean Monestime and the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will break ground for new development at Jeb Estates Park, located at 14530 NW 16th Court, Miami FL 33167. The 1.46-acre, undeveloped green space will be revitalized as a new mini park, complete with a nature-based playground and recreational amenities.

The park will feature new recreation playground equipment such as: an explorer dome, an oasis sand boat with sail, a percussion music panel, a dress-up wall with mirror, an accessible slide set into a hill with bolder “scramble” features and flat steppingstone stairs, and a quiet zone area. Other features will include walkways, park benches, trash and recycling receptacles, a bike rack, and nature trails. Site improvements include a two-rail, perimeter wood fence, a drinking water fountain, ADA parking within the right-of-way, park irrigation, electrical service installation, an artificial stone entry feature, and water meter service installation.

The project is aimed at improving park accessibility, encouraging physical activity and spending time outdoors, providing an aesthetically pleasing landscape and more native plantings, and fostering a sense of place and community. These improvements fulfill the goals of the Parks and Open Space System Master Plan (OSMP).
