October 30th: Miami-Dade County prepares for first-ever Hometown Heroes Parade

Miami-Dade County Mayor and Commissioner to announce parade route, invite residents to join the parade and community festival in downtown Miami

On Friday, September 23, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners will hold a press conference at FTX Arena to announce the Hometown Heroes parade, Miami-Dade's first-ever parade to honor the healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and first responders who kept our community safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Levine Cava will be joined by County Chairman José “Pepe” Diaz, Vice Chairman Oliver Gilbert, and Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins, along with first responders and healthcare leaders. Commissioner Cohen Higgins spearheaded the effort as prime sponsor of the legislation creating the parade and Vice Chairman Gilbert served as a co-prime sponsor.  

During the press conference, speakers will unveil the final parade route as well as a list of family activities offered throughout the event.
