As we continue our recovery and cleanup efforts, please visit the Emergency website for the latest information on openings and closings in Miami-Dade County.
Miami-Dade County Tax Collector's Office serves as an agent for the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for the purpose of registering and titling motor vehicles, mobile homes and vessels, and issuance of Disabled Parking Permits. Miami-Dade County does not offer driver license services in the Tax Collectors Office. Details about driver licenses are available online at the Division of Motorist Services. If you are moving to Florida, you must title and/or register your vehicle once you have established residency. Visit the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for more information.
Motor Vehicle Renewals
Registrations issued in the name of an individual expire at midnight on the day of their birth date, except for mobile homes and commercial vehicles. Mobile homes expire at midnight on the last day of the month of December. Commercial vehicles expire at midnight on the last day of the month of May (if registered semiannually) or December (for annual registration). Registrations issued in a company name are assigned a designated month and the registration expires at midnight on the last day of that month. You can renew your motor, mobile home, or vessel registration online, in person, or by mail.
Disabled Person Parking Permits
Disabled person parking permits are issued to individuals who have been medically certified to have long-term, permanent or temporary mobility impairment, or who are certified legally blind or temporarily sight-impaired. In addition, disabled person parking permits may be issued to organizations that provide transportation services to disabled persons.
Titles & Registrations
State of Florida requires that all motor vehicles, vessels, mobile home, and trailers be titled and/or registered. A registration is evidence of having paid the registration tax and fees on a motor vehicle. It consists of a metal license plate, a validation decal, and a registration certificate. Registering your motor vehicle goes hand in hand with the titling process. Title and registration transactions may be conducted at the Tax Collectors Office or any authorized private auto tag agency throughout Miami-Dade County.Back to Top Page Last Edited: Fri Mar 24, 2017 11:13:31 AM
