Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Nomi Health announce continuation of COVID-19 testing and vaccination services

COVID-19 Services will continue despite end of federal support funding

MIAMI ( June 16, 2022 )

Today, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, in partnership with Nomi Health, announced the continuation of countywide COVID-19 testing and vaccination services. Testing was previously expected to end on June 30 due to the conclusion of federal funding. Through negotiations with the private provider Nomi Health, Mayor Levine Cava was able to secure an agreement to continue current testing and vaccination services throughout Miami-Dade.

The County’s commitment to accessible testing throughout the pandemic has kept residents safe and healthy, conducting over 8.5 million tests and over 600,000 vaccines since these programs began countywide. Despite the end of FEMA and HRSA funding, Mayor Levine Cava worked diligently to identify a path forward that serves the people of Miami-Dade, as new cases continue to rise.

“I am thrilled that we are able to continue providing these vital services to our community, including to the uninsured,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Through this milestone partnership with our private sector partners at Nomi Health, Miami-Dade will continue administering COVID-19 testing and vaccination to anyone who can show proof of a U.S. address. I encourage everyone to take advantage of these easy-to-access services in order to keep themselves, their loved ones, and our community safe."

“Miami-Dade has been a leader in easy access to Covid-19 testing and vaccination since 2020, and this moment is no different. Nomi Health is proud to support the mayor and people in the County in this way, especially as Covid continues to threaten our community,” said Ron Goncalves, General Manager of Florida, Nomi Health.

This development was the result of ongoing efforts between Miami-Dade County and testing and vaccination partner, Nomi Health. Anyone with a valid United States address can access testing and vaccines, regardless of insurance status. Those without a domestic address and no health insurance will be charged $75 per PCR test, $50 per rapid antigen test and $40 for vaccine administration.
