Miami-Dade County Animal Services Volunteer Coordinator Walter Chacon Received the Humanitarian Award from Women in the Arts


Miami-Dade County Animal Services Volunteer Coordinator, Walter Chacón, was honored on September 24th, 2012 by the Women in the Arts Miami, a non-profit organization, for his volunteer work at Animal Services and pursue of excellence and promotion of the arts.  As a volunteer, Mr. Chacón took over 2,500 portraits of shelter pets, increasing their chances of being adopted.  His extraordinary commitment to the arts and our community is commendable.  

“Before becoming our Volunteer Coordinator, Walter dedicated his time and professional expertise to help our shelter pets find new homes through his engaging portraits, which captured both the beauty and loyalty of these pets and their need of a new home,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Animal Services.
