It is now illegal to tether (chain) your dog if you are not present.
This means it will be unlawful to tie a dog to any object or structure, including a house, tree, fence, post, garage, or shed, by any means, including a chain, rope, cord, leash, or running line. It does not mean you can't use a leash to walk a dog. Violations will result in a fines of up to $500.
Tethering is cruel practice that deprives dogs of much needed social interaction and makes a dog more aggressive creating a public safety problem. So please, train don't chain your dog.
