Extended deadline: Taxicab Advisory Group seeks nine new members
(MIAMI, March 2, 2015) – The Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), For-Hire Transportation, is seeking nine new members to join the Taxicab Advisory Group (TAG), which provides input to Miami-Dade County on various issues relating to the taxicab industry.
The positions to be filled are as follows:
- Two are open to consumers with no business interest in the for-hire industry.
- One is open to a taxicab passenger service company representative.
- Two are open to for-hire taxicab medallion holders, who are NOT owner-drivers.
- Three are open to full time taxicab chauffeurs, who have no interest in a taxicab medallion.
- One is open to a full-time taxicab chauffeur, who is an owner-driver.
The TAG is also comprised of representatives from PortMiami, Miami International Airport, the Office of Americans with Disabilities Act Coordination, and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau. Duties include developing, implementing and evaluating new innovative services, and service expansion and improvements. These recommendations are then discussed with RER, which studies their feasibility.
Interested applicants must provide background information and qualifications, and list the reasons why they should be selected. Applicants are also encouraged to submit a resume.
