Miami-Dade County Commission to discuss Surfside tragedy
MIAMI-DADE – The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners will address the Champlain Towers South tragedy during their meeting on Thursday, July 8. At 11 a.m., as a time-certain item, Commissioners will discuss a range of issues about the condo collapse, including the unified response from federal, state, and local governments, and how such a tragedy can be prevented in the future.
Special presentations are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., followed by public comments, before the time-certain discussion. The meeting will take place in the Board of County Commission Chambers, situated on the second floor of the Stephen P. Clark Center at 111 NW 1st St., Miami, FL 33128.
Anyone from the public who wants to comment about the Surfside tragedy may do so during the public comment portion of Thursday’s meeting. Each speaker is allowed two minutes to address the commission and enter their remarks into the record.
