Hurricane Evacuation List 2008
Since disaster is unpredictable, it is important to consider evacuation and sheltering prior to a mandatory evacuation order. You should try to evacuate to the home of a friend or family member who lives outside of the evacuation zones. Click here for the 2008 Hurricane Evacuation Centers  and the Bus Pick-Up points. 

Emergency Evacuation Assistance Program (EEAP)
Miami-Dade residents who on a daily basis require skilled nursing care, assistance with daily living, or have life-saving medical equipment dependent on electricity should register with the EEAP today!

Hurricane Safety

	During this Hurricane Season, Keep Trees in Mind! Miami-Dade County, other local organizations and experts recommend that you prepare several months prior to hurricane season.
	Generator Safety Even though there was little need for those generators during the 2006 season, don’t let your generator safety skills get rusty. Anyone who owns a generator should be prepared to operate it safely if the need arises.
	Hurricane Supply Checklist Your Hurricane supply kit should have a 3 to 14 day supply of the items in this checklist. Remember to buy supplies early and if you are planning to evacuate to a Red Cross Evacuation Center, please be sure to take these items.
	Hurricane Evacuation Zones Miami-Dade County has identified three hurricane evacuation zones based on potential storm surge. It is important to know if you reside in one of the zones and to have an evacuation plan in place.
