    Hurricane Evacuation List 2008
    Since disaster is unpredictable, it is important to consider evacuation and sheltering prior to a mandatory evacuation order. You should try to evacuate to the home of a friend or family member who lives outside of the evacuation zones.     Emergency Evacuation Assistance Program (EEAP)
    Miami-Dade residents who on a daily basis require skilled nursing care, assistance with daily living, or have life-saving medical equipment dependent on electricity should register with the EEAP today!

    Even though there was little need for those generators during the 2006 season, don’t let your generator safety skills get rusty. Anyone who owns a generator should be prepared to operate it safely if the need arises.

    Your Hurricane supply kit should have a 3 to 14 day supply of the items in this checklist. Remember to buy supplies early and if you are planning to evacuate to a Red Cross Evacuation Center, please be sure to take these items.
