Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and Careersource South Florida launch the Ready-To-Work Program

(MIAMI, April 1, 2015) – Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and his administration have partnered with CareerSource South Florida (CSSF) in a Countywide effort to expand employment opportunities and enhance work-readiness skills through the Ready-To-Work Program. This partnership is part of the Mayor's Actively Investing in Miami-Dade (AIM) Initiative and is critical for the continued economic growth of the community.

The Program will provide young adults, ages 18-24, the opportunity to improve their work-readiness skills while earning income. It will offer exposure to a variety of occupations offering valuable on-the-job training and empowering participants with the skills necessary to secure future employment. CSSF will support the program’s wages by subsidizing up to 160 hours, which includes 20 hours of pre-employment skills training prior to their 140 hours of actual work experience. The participants will have an opportunity to earn $10.00 an hour with top-notch businesses in Miami-Dade County.

“I look forward to this collaborative effort,” Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez said. “Together, we can advance professional development in our youth who are choosing to make Miami-Dade County their home, now and in the future.”

If you are interested in joining the Ready-To-Work Program to make a difference in the local community, as a young adult participant, or an employer, register today online.
