Dear Residents,

Thank you for subscribing to the District 1 e-Newsletter. I want to provide you useful information and keep you up to date on what’s happening in our district.

Our Summer Youth Internship Initiative interns are hard at work making preparations for their upcoming “Summer Jam Block Party,” which will take place at His House Children’s Home in Miami Gardens. His House helps restore the lives of children from newborn to 18 years of age. For over 29 years, His House has brought stability to the lives of over 15,000 children and remains a frontline provider of residential and foster care services. Geared towards establishing a sense of stability and healing for the difficult former lives these kids have faced, His House focuses on keeping families together and creating a safe environment free of abuse. To provide relief to the children who reside there, SYII interns are organizing the “Summer Jam” which will feature free food and festivities on Saturday July 21. This event is not open to the public.

Mark your calendars for my next free signature event, which will be open to the public. The annual Hispanic Heritage Festival takes place on Saturday, September 15, from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., at Country Village Park (6550 NW 188 Terrace, Miami, FL 33015).

Regards,
